I often change my avatar, and frequently use my art on my Facebook and Twitter profiles. Because the mark on my left thumb is purple, and I use a lot of purple lipstick – a colour called Black Velvet – in my work, I worked up a very quick sketch to mark this important day.
I voted at Laerskool Bryanston and was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Until the very last minute, I was unsure of where to make my mark for the national elections. On day, depending on how much wine I’ve imbibed, I may explain why I voted the way I did.
The words read “I made my mark And it was good”. No matter the results of today’s poll, I exercised a right for which a lot of people lost their lives. And, yes, I gave myself the right to complain if my choices don’t deliver.
