I’ve been invited by Gary McIver, head of the art department, to open a Matric art exhibition at St Stithian’s next week. While this invitation isn’t for the general public, I had to share it with you – because the artwork used to illustrate it is in another unusual medium: ink and coffee. I love speaking opportunities like this, because it’s a chance to pass on what I have learned, both good and bad, to others, and to help them with the difficult task of making choices. No matter what they end up doing in the future, I hope that all of these young women never give up their creativity, which adds meaning and joy to all aspects of life.
